A while…

…since I last updated, nothing really has happened. Got Seven Troop from my local library, but couldn’t really focus on it. Been getting too many people messaging late into the night to be able to shut off long enough to read the book.

I am looking into Facebook Desktop Apps at the moment so will give reviews on them, whether their worth your time or that the website is better.

So yeah, until next time…bye.

Seven Troop and Another British Team

Woo, today I went into my library and jumped straight onto one of their computers to search the catalogue. For the past 2 weeks I had been doing this from home, but every time I did it the book appeared to be on loan. Well today I didn’t bother I just went straight there, and guess what it was in stock. So I look at the library number and go to aisle it is meant to be down, look at the shelf…nothing it wasn’t there Sad smile Went back onto the computer rechecked then went back to the shelf and checked again. I was just about to leave when I spotted a trolley, and there it was Open-mouthed smile Open-mouthed smile. Happiest moment ever. So will be reading it tonight and hopefully enjoy it.
Another good something, Lewis Hamilton was at peak performance during the practise, and so was Button so it looks like the car is finally good enough for the drivers and they may go on to become real competition for Vettel. Can’t wait for the race tomorrow!
So look for an update tomorrow on both subjects

Life is Full of Ups and Downs

At precisely 13:03 today I received an email from a company I applied to work for:

We are sorry to inform you…”

It’s pretty simple to tell what they said from that, so obviously I felt rather down since this keeps happening. Well at around 16:00  I received a phone call, expecting it to be my ex (but shh), but no it was one of the recruitment companies that I had applied to and they had found me a job. Later on I was contacted by the relevant branch and given an email with all the details. However upon reading the email I found that I lacked the required experience for that particular role, disheartened I emailed the contact and she gave me some good news, that it wasn’t necessary and that I had more than enough for the job.

This has made my day, regardless if I get the job or not, the fact that I’m on course for interviews is brilliant. Life is starting to look up. Now to celebrate…

Another Quick Update

Been really busy again, so haven’t been able to write much. I’ve been writing my fanfic for the F.E.A.R game series. It is about a girl who comes face to face with the evil. I will not say too much more or you’ll be ahead of the deviantArt people lol.

I have released 3 chapters so far, will be releasing more in the coming days hopefully. In all honestly I do not know what happens at the end, as I am letting the characters develop the story for themselves.

Well that’s about it really, apart from that I have been playing Forza Motorsport 3.

Bye!!!

Norway, and deviantArt

A bit late since it happened 2 days a go but best to cover it. So on Friday Norway was hit by two attacks by the same man:

  • Bomb blast shatters buildings
  • Gunman Massacre in a youth camp killing at least 85 people

This is definitely going to be remembered in Norway for many years to come, especially since the country is known to be pretty peaceful compared to most countries. Most of the victims were teenagers, who approached a man disguised as a police man and were shot, even when trying to escape. This is a cowardly act, especially since he was armed and his prey were not. Hopefully he will get what he deserves, whatever that may be. Though it seems a bit unbelievable that one man could do this on his own, he must have had accomplices and hopefully they come forward or get caught, or they may strike again.

Oh and in other news Amy Winehouse has apparently died from a drug overdose yesterday.

deviantArt

To lighten the mood a tad, I have a deviantArt account: bfreeman0, and would be happy for any comments on any of my work. For those who don’t know, deviantArt is a place where users can submit their own art be it in whatever form, to be rated, reviewed and commented on.

Assassin’s Fail

Today has been a bad day. It all started yesterday when I was playing Assassin’s Creed 2, it began saving a game and came up with ‘Hard drive not found’, I didn’t pay any attention because the save icon did appear and no more errors appeared. Then today I tried loading up my game…wait where is it? no save games that’s weird. So I then checked the Dashboard to see if it would appear on there, but not a single file had anything to do with the game. So I have basically lost everything, got all the way to Venice, almost all the treasures, Altiair’s armour, most glyphs and all the statuettes. Sad smile

Did a Google search and many people have been having the same problem, no one has come up with a solution, except a prevention which is not to connect to Xbox Live as apparently it is UbiSoft’s server that has been making this happen, but no one from UbiSoft has bothered to confirm this. The only option is to go through it all over again, which is annoying. It also said something about uPlay which is like an achievement system which rewards you with content, but I never could access that.

UbiSoft you have lost my trust for the lack of reliability and for not taking responsibility, I will stay play future Assassin’s Creed games, but I’m not going to enjoy them as much knowing this could happen again. Sort it out.

Locusts and Speed Demons

Here is a continuation of the previous post about games I cannot wait to play this year.

Gears of War 3

Platform: Xbox 360

Having enjoyed the first game, the second one was a bit of a let down. I kept that game until I kept it and sold it on.

The story mode hasn’t been given much exposure this time around, however I can safely say that Felix (The main protagonist) and Delta squad are off to kill the queen to end this war, which would be a pretty good idea. In the first game they tried to blow up the tunnels which failed but did kill quite a few locusts, in the second they sank the last sanctuary of the human race, which seemed to have had the same effect as the previous game.

Opinion: Out of all the franchises coming out in the next quarter this is the one I am least looking forward to, I’ll definitely buy it when it is cheaper, but I’m in no rush. The multiplayer mode better be better than Gears 2, otherwise gamers will quickly complete the campaign and then sell it on.

Due: 20th September

Driver: San Francisco

Platform: Xbox 360, PC, PS3, Wii

Finally back in the shoes of bad ass cop Tanner, your mission seems simple: recapture Jericho. But before this can happen Tanner gets involved in a massive car crash and ends up with special possession powers. Tanner can now transfer to drivers in different cars, which can result in new missions (Like taxi driver missions in GTA) and also faster cars to complete the main missions.

However this new possession power would give you surely a massive advantage over the cops and baddies so I’m guessing there is a limit to when and how many times you can do it hopefully.

The game also comes with a new multiplayer mode, but details are limited.

Opinion: The previous few driver sequels never quite matched up to the original, and this one sadly seems like it is going to be the same deal, I’m going to wait out to see if the game is any good before buying it, rather than risking a pre-order to find out is rubbish.

Due: 2nd September
